Application Process
STEP #1
Call the receptionist at the Elbert County Campus of Athens Technical College AT (706) 213-2100, or visit the campus in the Yeargin Building Room 111 and ask for the Commercial Truck Driving program admission packet.
STEP #2
Complete the Athens Technical College Application Form, the FAFSA Form (for financial aid), and the Drug & Alcohol Policy Acknowledgement Form (included in the CTD admission packet). Return the completed forms with the non-refundable application fee to the Elbert County Campus.
STEP #3
You must take a placement test (ASSET), which will be administered by the college at the Elbert County Campus. Ask the Admissions Office to schedule you for one of the upcoming dates.
STEP #4
After you successfully complete the ASSET Test you must provide the Admissions Office with a seven-year Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) (official copy). The MVR may be obtained from the Georgia Department of Motor Vehicle Safety.
STEP #5
After the Admissions Office reviews the MVR, if it is acceptable, you will then be advised to complete all other admission requirements.
STEP #6
Submit an official and current DOT physical exam.
STEP #7
Submit a NIDA-5 drug screening, current within 10 days of the start of the course.
