Economic Development Programs
Business and Industry Services and Continuing Education.

Athens Technical College’s Economic Development Services serves a ten county area surrounding Athens. Our mission is to provide non-credit workforce development programs and lifelong learning opportunities to businesses and individual citizens within the communities we serve.  Forming partnerships with businesses and industries, schools, agencies, churches, and community centers, we make programs more accessible.

Business and Industry Services provides customized training and workforce development programs that are our core business. Programs are available to business, industry and non-profit organizations that are seeking to increase the skill level of their existing employees. Our customized training is tailored to meet specific needs and our classes include a variety of subject areas to include safety, computer workshops, first-aid, CPR, management and supervisory development, maintenance improvements, quality systems such as Six Sigma, and forklift training. The programs may be taught on-site at the company or at Athens Technical College locations and may be scheduled to accommodate all shifts.  We also administer the Georgia Quick Start program and the Retraining Tax Credit program for clients in our service area. Please call 706-369-5763 for more information.

Continuing Education offers a variety of continuing professional education, licensing and license renewal training, personal enrichment and community education classes for both business and non-business related participants. Our wide variety of programs provides new skills, growth and enjoyment at any age or stage of life. Many of our non-credit courses offer a window into college credit programs. Continuing and community education allows “learning a la carte”: many choices, prices, times and at convenient locations. In addition, we offer a menu of online classes that can be completed at home or anywhere the internet can be accessed at www.ed2go.com/atcga. These programs enhance the quality of life in our communities, allow our partners to maintain a competitive skill advantage, and further complement our workforce development programs.  Please call 706-369-5763 for more information.

We are proud to play a vital role in the growth and development of the vibrant communities of Northeast Georgia. We invite you to bookmark and visit our website often to find new classes and programs that are held at our main campus in Athens and at our satellite locations in Elberton, Monroe and Greensboro.

Thank you for this opportunity to serve your training needs.
