General Information
The
role of Continuing Education is to develop short courses,
workshops, and seminars for professional development and personal
enrichment. Students who satisfactorily complete most career
and professional courses receive continuing education units
(CEU's) documenting that their instruction has met nationally
established standards in planning, designing, teaching, and
evaluating, This record is permanent, comprehensive of all
professional training obtained at Athens Technical College,
and nationally recognized. CEU's do not apply to diploma and
associate degree programs.
Athens Technical College is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, GA 30033-4097; 404-679-4501) to award the associate degree. Inquiries to the Commission should relate only to the College’s accreditation status, and not to general admission information.

Registration Procedure
A registration form must be completed and returned to the Community Education office at Athens Technical College. A sufficient number of paid registrations must be received in the by the deadline date in order for the class to begin. Class enrollment may be limited based on space and/or equipment availability. All registrations are taken on a first come first served basis.
Registration in Person
Walk-in registration for community education classes is held daily (Monday through Friday) from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. before the registration deadline. Walk-ins arriving the first class meeting will be accepted only if the class has a sufficient number of applicants to operate and space is available. Fees must be paid by the first class meeting.

 Visa and MasterCard are accepted. Applicants paying by credit card may fax their registration form to fax # (706) 355-5036. Companies paying for employees to attend may fax in their registration form along with a letter giving Athens Technical College permission to bill the company. Make all checks or money orders payable to Athens Technical College. Be sure to include course code number and title.
Class Confirmation
Your class may still be cancelled if enrollment is insufficient. Athens Technical College will attempt to notify students whose classes have been cancelled, however, it is suggested you call or email for confirmation.
Refund Policy
A full refund will be issued if the continuing education class is cancelled. Otherwise, requests for refunds must be received by the registration deadline published in the course descriptions.
