ATC student Justin Arthur earns top awards with IAAP
Justin Arthur, an Athens Technical College student working on an associate degree in Business Administrative Technology, recently captured two top honors at a conference for administrative professionals.
During its 59th annual meeting held June14-16 in Atlanta, the Georgia Division of the International Association of Administrative Professionals named Mr. Arthur the 2013 Future Administrative Professional of the Year as well as the 2013 Student Member of the Year. The IAAP state division presented Mr. Arthur with plaques and monetary awards as recognition for these honors.
Mr. Arthur, who currently serves as president of the Athens Technical College student chapter of IAAP, expects to complete his Business Administrative Technology associate degree following fall semester of 2014.
Earlier this year, Mr. Arthur won second place in Microsoft Office 2010 and in Public Speaking in an IAAP student certification and development workshop held in Augusta.
After graduating, Mr. Arthur intends to earn his master’s degree in business administration from the University of Georgia Terry College of Business, he said. An MBA will ensure that he is prepared to run his family’s farm that raises chickens, Angus beef cattle and goats, and Athens Technical College is helping him reach that goal, he added.
“My education at Athens Technical College is helping ensure that I am on the path to achieving my dream,” he stated.
