Education Online is a project that provides a World Wide Web version of courses that form the
foundation of associate degree programs, some support courses for program majors, and proprietary
training programs. Online courses are offered through the Department of
Technical and Adult Education's Georgia Virtual Technical College
(GVTC).
Education Online provides interactive courses, most of them requiring daily communication with faculty
members and classmates. Reasonable computer competence is necessary.
Requirements for enrollment include a computer that will access the Internet, and the ability to send
and receive e-mail.
Education Online operates on a quarter-system calendar which provides Fall registration from July
through September and two registration periods between January and the Summer Session beginning in July.
Proprietary training/staff development programs are open for continuous enrollment.
