Hour of Code Offered December 8

The Computer Information Systems department invites all current and new students to participate in the Hour of Code event on December 8.  The Hour of Code is a global movement reaching tens of millions of students in 180+ countries and is the largest learning event in history.  The Hour of Code is a one-hour introduction to computer science, designed to demystify code and show that anybody can learn the basics. 

Blackboard Learn Information Session Offered Dec. 1.

Date: November 30, 2015

Beginning in Spring Semester 2016, all Athens Technical College courses are moving from ANGEL to Blackboard Learn. All students are invited to attend an information session on Tuesday, December 1 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. to learn how to access the new e-learning system, Blackboard. Free pizza will be served during the open house. Students will also be able to create new Blackboard accounts and explore the e-learning system.

Athens Tech Foundation Hosts O.W.L. Awards

The accomplishments of local business and industry were honored on November 19 during the Athens Tech Foundation’s second annual Outstanding Workforce Leadership (O.W.L.) Awards.  Held at The Classic Center, a full ballroom of attendees celebrated the accomplishments of O.W.L. Award recipients.

International Club Holds Photo Contest

People and culture, landscapes and wildlife, and food were the centerpieces of Capture the Culture, a photo contest sponsored by the International Club at Athens Technical College.  Students, faculty, and staff were invited to submit their cultural snapshots for the contest.  Winners were announced during a social hour on November 19.

Dr. Andrea Daniel Promoted to Executive Vice President for Athens Technical College

Dr. Andrea Daniel, a long-serving administrator at Athens Technical College, has been promoted to executive vice president, effective November 9.
