Fire Science Student Presented with Work Ethics Award

Date: August 4, 2015

Athens Technical College has named RJ Lott, of Monroe, Ga., as the recipient of the Life Sciences and Public Safety Division Work Ethics Award. During a special presentation at the Monroe Fire Department, Lott received his Work Ethics Award. Lott is currently a student in the Fire Science Technology associate degree program and is employed by the Monroe and Social Circle fire departments.

Radiography Grads Achieve 100% Pass Rate on National Exam

Graduates of the Radiography class of 2015 have achieved a 100 percent pass rate on the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification examination. The most recent class marks the tenth consecutive year Athens Technical College graduates have earned a 100 percent pass rate on the ARRT exam.

Interior Design Students Revamp Major Manufacturer’s Office

Date: July 17, 2015

Interior Design students Deb Kight and Kellie Burden received hands-on experience while completing interior design work for Nibco, a manufacturing company located in Greensboro, Ga. Nibco is a leading international provider of valves, fittings, and piping products used in plumbing, heating, air conditioning, and irrigation.

Dental Hygiene Students and Faculty Volunteer to Provide Free Dental Care

Date: July 16, 2015

Students and faculty from the Dental Hygiene program volunteered with the Georgia Mission of Mercy (GMOM) on June 19 and 20. Held this year in Perry, Ga., GMOM is a free, large-scale portable dental clinic for low- and no-income adults who are unable to pay for dental care. Over the two days, Athens Technical College students and faculty assisted volunteer dentists and other dental health professionals to provide dental care and oral health education to more than 2,200 patients.
