Disability Services

The Office of Disability services provides academic adjustments or auxiliary aids to any student who requests services and has an appropriately documented disability. A disability that qualifies a student to receive accommodations in college is any physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more of the major life activities such as caring for one's self, performing manual tasks, walking, seeing, hearing, speaking, breathing, learning, or working.

To determine eligibility for services, students must submit current and official documentation of a disability to the Office of Disability Services at least two weeks prior to the need for academic assistance. As a postsecondary institution, Athens Technical College cannot accept IEPs or 504 Plans from high school to support the provision of academic adjustments
