Athens Technical College strives to provide a safe working environment for all faculty, staff, and students.
As such, we have a process in place to help support you in the unlikely event you are injured at work and need medical treatment.
Step 1: Assess the injury. Seek IMMEDIATE care in the case of an emergency. Dial 9-1-1. If the injury is not an emergency, report it to your supervisor immediately and then to Human Resources. You can reach us at (706) 355-5140. If there are any witnesses, please have them complete a Witness Statement Report which can be found on the Intranet.
Step 2: Contact AmeriSys at (678) 781-2848 or 800-900-15821 to speak with a case manager who will assist you in getting the proper medical care including finding an in network physician as well as the proper follow-up care. Your case manager is a licensed, registered health care professional who will guide you through the recovery process.
Step 3: After seeking treatment, please follow up with Human Resources with any questions you may have or to see if we need any additional information from you. The Human Resources Office handles all Workers' Compensation claims for employees. Once you have notified your supervisor, please contact HR so they may process your claim.
Please be sure to review the Employee Handbook for State Employees Workers' Compensation brochure.
