Sonnax Road Show Visits Automotive Technology
Date: June 19, 2015
The Automotive Technology program was chosen to host a Sonnax Road Show demonstration on May 21 during their Automatic Transmission class. The Sonnax Road Show is a series of valve body diagnostic and reaming seminars held throughout the United States and Canada. Athens Technical College was one of only a handful of sites in the southeast selected for a demonstration this summer.
Randall Schroeder, Sonnax technical representative, discussed the importance of treating customer cars with care and quality work. Students participated in hands-on demonstrations of vacuum leak testing and reaming valve bodies. They were able to compare the old way of using a flashlight to look for worn valve bores to the precise diagnostic exams with vacuum testing equipment.
“The Sonnax Roadshow gave the students an opportunity to see advanced transmission and valve body diagnosis and repair along with products that Sonnax offers to correct many of the problem areas found in modern day transmissions,” according to Craig Copelan, Automotive Technology instructor. “The presentation was packed full of very useful information the students can apply during our class and in the field once they graduate.”
