Nominations Open for 2016 GOAL Student Award
Date: October 21, 2015
Nominations are currently open for instructors to nominate Athens Technical College students for the 2016 Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership (GOAL).
GOAL, a statewide program of the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG), honors excellence in academics and leadership among the state’s technical college students. GOAL winners are selected at each of the state’s 23 technical colleges, as well as one Board of Regents college with a technical education division.
“GOAL represents a tremendous opportunity for the growth and development of our students,” according to Alvie Coes, director of student activities and college-level GOAL coordinator. “Students selected will have the chance to develop and hone their professionalism through competition interviews as the selection process unfolds here at Athens Technical College.”
Nominations are received at the college-level where semi-finalists are chosen through an internal interview process. A college nominee will be selected during an external interview process in January. The Athens Technical College nominee has the opportunity to compete at regional and state competitions during the spring. The statewide winner will receive a Chevy Cruze from corporate partner Chevrolet as part of their award package.
Nominations are due by Thursday, December 3, 2015.
