Where should I park and do I have to pay?
The Classic Center has a parking deck and Parking is available downtown. Parking is done on a first-come, first serve basis and the fee will depend on which lot you park in. Please click the link for directions. https://classiccenter.com/261/Directions
Are tickets required?
COVID-19 Safely protocols are in effect at the Classic Center venue. All students and guests will be required to register and sign an affidavit prior to the event. Proof of affidavit is required for entry into the venue. Students who have completed their graduation application will receive further information and links to the required registration through their student email accounts.
Who is eligible to participate?
Associate Degree and Diploma students who completed their programs during Fall Semester 2019, Spring Semester 2020 or Summer Semester 2020 are eligible to participate. Technical Certificate of Credit students are not eligible to participate in the graduation ceremony.
How do I know if I am eligible to participate?
An Application for Graduation must be completed by each potential graduate. Students should apply for Graduation when they register for their anticipated last semester. For timing purposes, all graduation applications are due to the Office of Registration and Records by March 1st. This allows the Registrar's office time to process the request and notify the students of the results via e-mail.
Is there a deadline to apply for Graduation?
If you wish to participate in the 2020 Graduation Ceremony, your Application for Graduation must be received by the Registrar's Office no later than March 1, 2020.
What does the $40 Graduation Fee Cover?
The Graduation Fee helps cover the cost of the rental fee for the facility, and the diploma paper and cover. The actual cost incurred exceeds $40. Additional funding for the graduation ceremony is provided by ATSAC and the Student Activity Fees paid each semester.
When is the $40 Graduation Fee due?
The Graduation Fee is due at the time you complete your last semester. Students who have not paid their graduation fee will not receive their Diploma or an official transcript.
How do I get information about ordering my Cap and Gown?
Caps, gowns, tassels, graduation announcements, and class rings can be purchased on the Athens campus in the bookstore or online at herffjones.com/college/athenstech. Cap and gown orders must be placed no later than June 15,2020. Personalized graduation announcements can be ordered at http://www.herffjones.com/college/athenstech through your graduation date.
What type of notification will graduates receive?
Graduates will receive notifications regarding graduation to their Athens Technical College student e-mail accounts. Notifications include classes needed to graduate, graduation instructions, ticket information.
Do you need special accommodations or assistance to participate in the ceremony?
Individuals with disabilities requiring assistance or accommodations to participate in the Graduation Ceremony should contact Jessica Felts at 706-583-2893 or or by email no later than July 20, 2020.
