If you are a new ATC Student, don't forget to activate your ATC student email account. Nearly all communication from ATC will be sent to your student email account. You will not be able to register without your accounts activated. More information can be found at https://www.athenstech.edu/studentAffairs/admissions/newStudentInformation/

Some common registration errors that you might encounter include:

Registration Error/Warnings Causes & Solutions
Repeat Count Exceeds 0
  • Repeating a course that you already got credit for either via transfer coursework, test credit, or previously taken.
This may affect future financial aid. Contact financial aid for review and reconfirm course with academic advisor.
Prerequisite
  • Missing course or transfer equivalent. You need to have completed a specific course(s) before registering for the course(s)
  • General Education Requirement missing
  • There is a Co-requisite course. You need to register for both courses at the same moment. When registering for a lecture & lab course, both section numbers should match. Contact your academic advisor to review your degreeworks audit and course sequence.
Test Score
  • COVID exepmtion
  • HOPE GPA missing
  • Missing specific test scores
Contact registration to review. We can refer you to the correct department to assist you.
Last Class
  • During add/drop -> register for the course you are needing first, and then drop the course you wnat to remove
  • When dropping all your courses, the last class must be done manually by Registration & Records
  • Email registration@athenstech.edu with student ID and CRN of the course for assistance.
Permission of Department (POD)
  • Course selection is restricted. Check the location of the course; "Where". If location is high school, it is for dual enrollment/high school students only.
  • Sequence out of order. You are registering for a learning support course prior to the paired course. (i.e. ENGL 0999 before ENGL 1101)
Contact program advisor for override
Class not required
  • Course might not be part of your program. Review your DegreeWorks audit and program requirements.
  • Your program might not have been added to your academic history.
Contact your academic advisor for further assistance. You may need to complete the "out of program" form for approval to register.
