Program Overview

Cosmetology offers a wide variety of diploma and certificate optionss, which allow graduates to register for State Board license exams, then enter the industry in their chosen field. Career options include Master Cosmetologist (hair, skin and nails), Hair Designer (hair services), Barbering and Esthetics. Our instructor team places 100% emphasis on State Board preparation, infection control and salon services.

The cosmetology industry is rapidly growing, with an anticipated growth of $8 billion dollars by 2025. Graduates have opportunities in various positions such as: Technicians in salons/spas; technicians in resorts, theme parks; makeup artists; television and movie stylists; salon/spa owner; salon/spa manager; educator; platform artist; or industry representative, just to name a few. In addition to the TCSG/State Board standards, we offer certifications in areas such as Keratin Treatments, microdermabrasion, competiton styling, lash extensions, wig styling, and extensions.

Specific Facility, Tools Or Educational Tools Available

All Practicum courses include live labs (clients), where students actually perform salon services. Guest speakers are scheduled each semester, along with field trips such as hair shows. The Barbering program is located on Walton campus and Esthetician is located on the Athens campus.
