eCampus

Athens Technical College participates in TCSG’s eCampus initiative as both a Home and a Host Institution.

eCampus is an online platform that allows colleges to leverage instructional capacity for increased access to programs regardless of student location. It is comprised of technological advancements targeted at supporting the overall mission to improve the student experience from enrollment through graduation leading to positive workforce development. Since its inception in the summer of 2021, hundreds of students have gained access to online courses through this shared resource model with participation only expected to grow.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you have additional questions about registering for admission in eCampus courses, contact registration@athenstech.edu.

eCampus provides students the ability to enroll in digital online courses utilizing faculty from TCSG colleges, allowing students access to courses that would not have been available during the desired semester at their home technical college.

For a student, taking a course offered through eCampus is no different than taking other courses. A student enrolls in an eCampus course through Athens Technical College. The course is 100% online and is taught by a TCSG college instructor. The student receives credit for the course the same way they would if the course is completed at Athens Technical College.

The eCampus Home College is the college where the student is enrolled.

If you are an Athens Technical College student, then Athens Tech is your Home College. Students enrolled in another TCSG College should consider that college as the Home College.

An eCampus Host College is the TCSG College that is responsible for teaching the eCampus course.  The Host College may or may not be the enrolled students’ Home College.

eCampus does not have any additional admissions requirements beyond those of Athens Technical College which can be viewed on the Apply Now page.

Tuition and fees are the same for on campus and distance education courses, including eCampus. There may be additional costs associated with course textbooks and supplies. Please contact your advisor or eCampus instructor for more information about required course materials.

eCampus courses support real-time interaction.  Some courses may contain some video/audio recordings, YouTube or other video content.  However, each course is taught by an instructor each semester.

The majority of the eCampus courses do not require an on-campus proctored event. However, there may be some exceptions. If an on-campus proctored event is required, it will be listed in the course syllabus. Students with questions about proctored events should contact the eCampus instructor on the first day of the course.

Athens Technical College began participating in the eCampus initiative summer semester 2016.  eCampus courses are offered each semester.

The course begin and end dates for an eCampus course may be different from ATC’s regular scheduled courses, please pay close attention to the dates. eCampus courses will become available to registered students in Blackboard on the first day of the term.

Students must be admitted to the College and register for eCampus courses prior to the add/drop deadline indicated on the Academic Calendar.

eCampus courses will be listed in BannerWeb and are designated as ECP.  Students can register for eCampus classes using the same registration process used for any other course.

Program and college advisors can help our students register for eCampus.

There is limited space available in eCampus classes.  The maximum number of students is predetermined before the course is added to Banner.  Students will be able to see the class capacity in Banner when they register for eCampus courses.

All Athens Tech students can view their class schedule in BannerWeb, available through the OKTA Portal.

To access all distance education courses, students need a device that connects to the internet and utilizes a modern web browser (ie: Chrome or Firefox preferred). Some courses may have more requirements such as software or other hardware which will be listed in the course syllabus.  More information can be found on the Online Learning page of our website.
